windows hangs aftre logon

can someone tell me what is up with my server?i installed a software and it required me to reboot on one of my win 2000 servers;i rebooted and logged on and afterwards nothing happens again, just the cursor remains up on the desktop, it hangs, doesn’t go beyond that but i can get into it locally but not via the network.I hope this explanation will help
