Windows ME and Word

I have an HP Pavilion PC which is loaded
with Windows ME. I also have Works 2000
whic is not the greatest thing for doing
work at home which requires full blown
Excel and Wword. I’ve tried on several
ocassions to install Office 97 and it
installs successfully. When I try to
open it, it says I need to run setup
from where I orginally installed it. OK
fine, I give that a shot and the same
thing. Will Office 97 NOT run on the
ME operating system? If so, how can I
obtain Microsoft Word and Excel to run
on my system, or is it possible?
