I have been downloading and installing updates from the Windows Update website successfully for a while now. But yesterday, after successfully updating the security patches, I attempted to download and install the update for Internet Explorer 6. Once I selected to download, it downloaded and started installing as usual. Then during the installation, it stalled after installing approx 70%. I let it sit there for about an hour in hopes of it continuing. I decided to cancel the install, when it replied that it will take a few minutes. That stalled too. With nothing else to try, I rebooted the machine. Upon, completing bootup, a windows pops up stating an incomplete update. It gives a choice to continue installation or start new update. Both of these choices have stalled on me through numerous attempts. Now Tools-Windows Update cannot find the website and I can’t even remove IE 6.
Is there anything else I can try?
