Windows Protection Error

by gareth.h (gareth . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

I Have Recntly Built A New Computer.
1.2Ghz (266FSB) AMD TB, MSI K7T-Turbo Motherboard, 2x 512Mb (1.24Gb) PC133 RAM, 2x 40Gb (80Gb) IDE Hard Drive, 16x10x40 IDE CD-RW, 52x IDE CD-ROM, PCI Modem, PCI Network Card, USB Bommunications Are Enabled And A USB Port Is Used For The Mouse. The Mother Board Contains Onboard Sound. And I Have Recently Installed A 3D Prophet II MX 64MB AGP Card. I Have Both Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 98SE Installed. But With Windows 98 When I Install The Video Card Drivers I Recive A Windows Protection Error When I Restart. I Have UpdatedTo The Mother Boards VIA Chipset Drivers And Iv also Updated the Video Card Drivers. But The Problem Still Continues. I Have Tried Removing all Other Cards And Have Disabled Un-Needed Devices Such As Serial And Parallel Ports In The CMOS. I Have Also Swaped the CPU And RAM And Have Tryed DifferentHard Drives. Windows 2000 Pro Works Ok But I Need Windows 98SE To Work. How Can I Resolve The Problem?

Thanks,
Gareth Hauber.
