Windows Protection Error

Hi,
I am having a problem with my computer whereby whenever it tries to load windows am having an error message
While Initializing IO Devices
Windows Protecion Error.Restart Your Computer.

My computer is in a tower casing.When you lay it on its sideways the computer boots up properly without that error message.
