Windows98 and Office 2000

Brand new 800 MGZ open architecture PC with Windows 98 pre-istalled by assebler. I loaded Office 2000 and McAfee Virus Scan from there on it takes 45 minutes for the PC to boot on. Is there a conflict between Windows 98 and Office 2000 that Microsoft forgot to tell me.
