WinNT4 WS & IE6 problem

A person here at work just bought a new workstation – NT4WS (SP6a) and I got it set up and running for him. He downloaded and installed IE6 and now he is receiving the following error (not found on technet):

Source: Logon
Type: Information
Category: None
The shell stopped unexpectably and explorer.exe was restarted.

I cannot get into Control Panel to uninstall IE6, it just Dr. Watson’s with the above error when I try. I booted into VGA mode and get the same error. All was fine until IE6 was installed.

Anyone know of a fix for this?
