Won’t Shut the “BEEP” Up!

An AMI bios w/ pent1, when passed on to friend,he took the case off the tower and now all the computer will do is BEEP after the post. I have counted up to 15 beeps before I bugged me so bad I had to turn it off. I tryed and emerg. start up disk butsince it won’t go past the post it did no good. What could be the problem?
