Write disk error/invalid file in c drive

I am getting an error disk write blue screen and when I try to run scandisk,disk defrag., or nortons systemworks 2001 it tells me there is something in drive C that its not supposed to be there. I aslo find errors with Nortons disk doctor but it gets fixed and I still get this error.How can I find out what it is ?
