xp pro won recognise CDRW

I have recently built a PC for a client, with windows XP pro on, it has a single HDD and a DVD and Liteon CDRW. Everytime XP boots up, it will not recognise the CDRW, but when you go into the add hardware wizard, it finds it straight away, then nexttime you restart, it is no longer there again. Any suggestions
