Tim Cook took to the stage at the Steve Jobs Theater in the new Apple Park to go over all sorts of new Apple tech. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, iPhone X (pronounced “ten”), a new 4K Apple TV, and the Apple Watch Series 3 were all unveiled.
Here’s a rundown of everything that was announced.
All prices indicated are in US dollars.
The new Apple Watch Series 3 will have cellular connectivity, which consumers have been requesting for quite a while.
The heart rate sensor will also be upgraded to track lots more info, like resting heart rate, recovery rate, and arrhythmias that could signal health problems.
One thing no one mentioned: Why is the crown red?
Pricing will differ for the Series 3 and Series 3 with cellular, and the Series 1 will still be available for a lower price of $249.
You can order an Apple Watch Series 3 on September 15, and they’ll be available in select areas on September 22.

The new Apple TV will support live sports streaming that will be tailored to your location and favorite teams.
The Apple TV and Apple TV 4K will be available at the above prices. You can order it starting September 15, and shipping will begin on September 22.
The new chip at the core of the iPhone is the A11 Bionic. It’s a six-core, 64-bit CPU with 4.3 billion transistors, along with the other features shown in this image.
The iPhone 8 camera is an improvement over the iPhone 7-series one.
The f1.8 and 2.8 apertures are, Apple said, better than the iPhone 7-series ones and will provide much better photo quality than before.
Portrait mode is getting some improvements in the form of lighting effects. The dual cameras on the iPhone 8 Plus will be able to sense the environment, create a depth map, separate the subject from the background, create facial landmarks using machine learning, and adjust lighting to simulate different photo environments.
Luckily, Apple decided to ditch the proprietary standards they’re known for to go with the Qi open wireless charging standard. That means your iPhone 8 will charge wirelessly on lots of different third-party devices.
The tiny little bump in the top of the screen contains a lot of new technology that enables Face ID.
Called the True Depth camera, the front-facing assembly takes an infrared image of your face and matches it with a dot projection map to create a mathematical model of your appearance, much like older iPhones do with your fingerprint.
It also enables the use of portrait mode and its new lighting effects with the front-facing camera.
The dual camera on the back of the iPhone X is new too, and it even offers physical image stabilization.
You won’t need to charge your iPhone or Apple Watch on Apple’s new AirPower pad, but you can charge several Apple devices on it at once.
It will be available next year, and Apple didn’t indicate a price.
The iPhone X will join its predecessors in this lineup, but it dwarfs them in price: It will set you back $999.
