I know you can get sound and the little envelope in the task bar. But, what I am looking to do is have a gif or jpeg pop up on the screen to alert me that new mail has been recieved.

Hi,

I see you've entitled your message "Automate Outlook with Visual Basic". Good, because you can use VB and COM objects to access much of the funtionality of Outlook 2000.

Look at...

http://www.slipstick.com/dev/comaddins.htm

(remove spaces from above URL)

There is documentation and examples on the site describing how to do it too.

Cheers,
Tim.
