I WANT ANY USER TO BE ABLE TO LOG ON TO A WORKSTATION THAT IS SHARED BY 20 USERS AND HAVE A DRIVE MAPED FOR ONE SHARE, I DONT WANT THEM TO HAVE THIS DRIVE MAPED WHEN THEY LOG ON TO OTHER WORKSTATIONS,I DONT WANT TO MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE CURRENT LOG IN SCRIPT. SO CAN I SET UP THE WORKSTATION SO IT MAPS THIS DRIVE EVERY TIME SOME ONE LOGS ON

I would create a .BAT file that contains the net use command to map the drive and place this file (or a shortcut to the drive)in the %systemroot%\profiles\all users\start menu\programs\startup folder.

Hopes this helps.

Share the drive that you want accessed. Go to the workstation that you want the 20 or so users to be able to see the desired mapped drive. Double click Network Neighborhood, then double click on the computer name that has the shared drive on it. Right click on the shared drive's share name and go to "Map Network Drive...". It will bring up a window so you can select which drive letter on the local machine you want and a check box at the bottom of the window that allows you to reconnect at logon. Make sure that this check box is checked and when ever someone logs on it will map this drive on the local machine to the drive letter you chose when creating the mapped drive.

If your workstations are running Win 98 goto 'Control Panel'-
'Password'- 'User Profile' and select 'Users can customise... You may have to map the drive for 20 users... as they log-on!!!

Just don't setup roaming or a mandatory user profile for the 20 users on the domain . They will be logged on using a local profile on the workstation . You can make a shortcut for the mapped drive in the local profiles of the 20 users . The drive will be mapped as soon as the users click on the shortcut .Another easy way would be to use a single account for all users to logon to the workstation eg the GUEST account with no profiles set on the domain .
