# of processers

This may seem like a silly question, but how can you tell how many processers are in a server without powering it down and opening it up??
I know with are Netfinity's they have indecator lights to let you know, but i also have a couple of Digital Prioris which don't.

go to the run box and type winmsd. That will bring up the nt diagnostics and the system tab should show the processors in the pc.

Lot's of ways
1.) If it's NT hit CTRL+ALT+DEL, task manager & click the performace tab.
2.) Right click My Computer Properties Enviornment Tab NO_OF_PROCESSORS Variable
3.) If the processor is not installed (soft) the above two methods won't work, restart the computer on reboot, the Hard Boot screen should give you how many processors are installed,
