Explain how the following email is sent to you and addressed to some one else in your
email that is not sent to by any one you know. example below:

an you can't get the remove from list to work. response returned as "unknown user".

This is all done by the use of the Bcc: parameter. When you blind copy someone, you do not see you e-mail address in the To: field. You see the original only. This is how most of your spam is delieverd. A large Bcc: list and a fake To: address. You do not see the other reciepients this way. I wiil send you one to show.

Dude, I just went through **** with the Hotmail staff over this very thing. I got mail in MY OWN NAME from MSN.com (they own hotmail). Needless to say I went ballistic times thirty. It's not that hard these days to fake the header info in an email packet such that it can appear to come from anyone....not much you can do unless you can trace it back to the offender. And yes, they are breaking a law, but enforcement is something you will die waiting for.
