The com.com domain is owned by CNET Networks, Inc.
Which also owns the site.

So techrepublic is just a host name on their domain. which happens to be com.com instead of techrepublic.com

looks funny I know.

The site changed over the weekend...

Yeah, I noticed the com.com today, and the new bottom tag "Powered by Jive Software".
Looks like ol' Techrepublic went through a changeover this past weekend to new software and such.

It would have been nice to get a notice about which cookies to remove blocks on though, just a terse prompt to enable them. Had to go in through a browser with no cookie blocking to find which ones were required (com.com, zdnet.com).

Way faster but...

It is MUCH faster, finally, but i noticed that the Q&A notifications just take you to the main page and not the actual thread.
Is it a cookie problem??
