A) Scatter/Gather I/O
"Scatter/Gather I/O is a special type of high-performance I/O available via the Win32 ReadFileScatter and WriteFileScatter functions.
Enables higher I/O throughput when application data is located in noncontiguous memory locations, and data needs to be written to a contiguous file location."
