1 DSL line 1 Fiber Line 1 windows 2008 R2 server need to VPN on Fiber

I have one managed DSL static IP coming into a ActionTec DSL modem/router that handles the offices 8 computers just fine. It is a 15MB down .5MB up line that also handles CISCO VOIP and all feeds into a CISCO switch. However, the new database the office is using requires a higher up speed for clients accessing from outside the office. Hence, we purchased a nice server for the DB and a 3mb/3mb fiber for the a VPN in to it. Since I don't really have user/pass access to the managed DSL I am a little skeptic as to how I am going to make this work but here goes. I ordered another router for the fiber and was going to then connect it directly to the server's other NIC -configure it and then bridge the connections. Is this a plausible solution or do I need to do a lot more to get this working securely?

Thanks for any input.
