I don't think they will run side by side.

The use similar technologies, and will try and disable each other. The way they work with files will make the other program think it is a virus.

You can and should have different anti virus software on a client PC and on a server, and ideally a third anti virus vendor for your email server.

It doesnot hurt to run 2 different antivrius packages just don't run them at the same time. besides their not liking each other, the impact on system performance is terrible. And it really isn't necessary unless your loading something new or on theinternet. If a virus has no way to get to you why impede the performance of your system.

You cannot run the two active scanners at the same time. If you disable the services and don't load them on the boot you can install more than one anti-virus depending on the brand and the order in which they are installed. For our technology demonstrations (Global Hauri- ViRobot) we have the top four selling products and our ViRobot loaded onto a single system. The previous answer that was provided to you hit the nail on the head. Why should you have your performance impacted by the overhead associated with anti-virus scanning? Most people turn the active scanner off because of the system slowdown that occurs with most products. ViRobot is a new technology in anti-virus that doesn't have this type of impact on your system. It also has changed the standard from 'Detect and Delete' viruses to 'Detect and Repair'. ViRobot is the only anti-virus in the world that can actually clean the top viruses propogating in the world today. As an IT Director in one of the largest Semiconductor companies in the world and the first US customer of the ViRobot, it is the best!

NO! DON'T DO IT! Most antivirus will not install if there is a different program already on the computer.

If you are having problems with the two listed try etrust by computer associates. A major improvement over both NAV and McAfee
