2 Gateway addresses in a client PC

By n_prabavathy ·
Client having O/s Win 98 SE, has to access 2 different servers as remote user.

For one application it has to access central office server thru leased(secured) line.

For another it has to access different server via tunnel. ( thru internet )

Is it possible to have 2 gateway address in a single PC in order to access both the servers. (without restarting computer)

Pls. help.

Gateways are routers have nothing (directly) to do with servers that need to be accessed. The only gateway address that should be entered is that of the router that is between your physical network segment and the rest of the world.

Study up on TCP/IP and learn about the ROUTE ADD command. You should be able to add a static routing path to the clients that will pre-load into cache the custom path to a machine.

My question for you, is why do you need to do this? The machinesshould be able to find these servers regardless, by IP address, as long as the routers between those locations are transferring between the two... It basically should be happening already.
