2000 terminal server as a bdc to nt4.0

By maddiuex ·
Hello.
first can windows 2000 terminal server be a BDC on a windows nt 4 w/sp6a? and if so how. please list the steps if possible. The terminal server can be rebuilt, But the NT Server has to stay as NT due to a special program, that will not be supported till first qurater of 2003.

Please do not suggest upgrading to windows 2000, or downgrading Terminal server. If I have to I can put in the 5 users that will be using Terminal server but would like synchrozation??? :)

Win 2000 has done away with pdc and bdc so when you add a 2000 server to a nt4 network it is in essence a stadalone. The security database is not replicated to the 2000 server untill you go Native Mode which is a full 2000 network with Active directory.
So has the Lord of Microsoft deemed it to be.

So in short the answer is NO. Sorry.

The bottom line answer to your question is that a Win2K Domain Controller CANNOT exist in an NT4 domain.
