2gigabyte Barrier in NT

by Skitzizzy In reply to 2gigabyte Barrier in NT

By formatting the volume as an NTFS volume on a different NT machine as a secondary drive, then installing it into the boot partition of the PC you want to reinstall NT on, Windows will see the partition is larger than 2Gig and will allow the install provided you do not **** away the partition information.

You can also install a 3rd party program called Partition Magic (there are others available) which will enable you to expand the partition after NT installed.

Unfortunately the default NT package for partition management does not allow you to expand the boot volume.

Hope this helps you some,
