2K lockouts while logged in

By RPJ ·
Using active directories with several OU's, some users in different ou's get locked out for no reason, they are logged on when the lockout occurs and they don't even have to be using the computer. Checked a bunch but might have missed something, anyideas. Happens about every hour and an half. Thanks for any assistance you might render

Are the users that are being locked out actually joined to your domain and are they local or remote users coming through a VPN? I had the same problems with some users that were remote and their boxes were not joined to our domain but coming through a VPN connection. I have also had this happen when users are on the VPN (remote) and are joined to the domain but are challenged to change their password while on the VPN, they change their password while on the VPN but they are not actually connected (cable) to the network because they are working remote and the password gets changed on the VPN but not their local machine and this will attempt to authenticate to the network and the local machine causes the account to lockout. The local machine has the old password but the network only recognizes the newly assigned password through the VPN.
