Rats - I missed my "upset" call. But I had quite a few bucks on the Eagles plus the 7 point spread. It was a great outcome for me.

The Shame of it Max, the Eagles gave this to Pats

by TomSal In reply to The Eagles covered

The turnovers, particularly that horrible "what the **** are you thinking McNabb" interception in the first half.

McNabb lost this game for the Eagles, which of course is frustrating, because I really think the Eagles could of pretty easily won -- minus the turnovers the game would of been over in the 3rd qtr.

Great now I have to listen to how great Tom Brady is all over again....LMAO sons of bitches...

Two things lost it for the Eagles

You're right, those turnovers were key to the game. Especially considering one of them was in the Red Zone, and in the end, it gave up a tie or the win if they could have come away with some points. But those interceptions lost the game early. The Eagles lost AGAIN late in the game with that horrendous time management. It looked like they simply conceded the game in the last minute and a half.

Minute and a half?

They chewed up the last 8 minutes all by themselves. I was let down by the time management... Someone was paid to lose.

Paid to lose?

You know, that thought did indeed cross my mind. But I thought, no, this is the NFL, not the NBA.

However, that was about the worst case of time management I've ever seen -- especially in a big game like this. But if someone was "on the take", it had to be McNabb.

A professional observation:

"Trailing by two scores late in the fourth quarter, why did the Eagles take their sweet time getting to the line of scrimmage? It was surreal watching Donovan McNabb let precious seconds (and the Eagles' season) die as he slowly broke out of the huddle and long-counted under center. The result was a baffling drive that played directly into the Patriots' hands. When Philly finally scored to make it a three-point game, they were forced into an onside kick that shifted field position and effectively ended any hope of winning. They'll be talking about this forever in Philadelphia. And rightfully so.

Yeah

I'm not terribly serious about the throwing of the game. But it's a more credible reason than stupidity.

So tell me, Donovan, did you intentionally throw the game or are you just stupid?

I think I'd pay real money to see a main-stream sports interviewer ask that question.
