3D Max Rendering speed problem

By chris ·
I am trying to render a flythrough of a house that I built in 3D Max 9. There is a total of 1200 frames although a single frame at 320 240 size is taking hours to render. There is only afew windows and reflective surfaces, so does anyone know of any way I can speed up this render and also tell me why its taking so long ?.

render farm

by david.wallis In reply to 3D Max Rendering speed pr ...

most people using 3ds max use a rendering farm to do the rendering.

I set one up here for our visualisers so they can render on the farm rather than on their own pc.

Our renderfarm consists of 2 pcs (both Dual operton processors) and that cuts the rendering time by many hours.

basically you can get hold of a few old pcs (1gz min really!) network them toegther and install backburner on them. The you can use them to do your rendering :)

thats a good read will help lots.
