7x10 page size

By axisnexus ·
Is there a way to set a custom 7x10 page size in Word 2007. It resets itself to a default page size called B5(JIS) which is 7+x10+. ?

re: paper size

I don't know about your printer, but mine has a custom setting where you can choose any size paper within the limits of the printer.

To change default paper size in Windows XP so that all programs use the same settings, go to printers and faxes, right click the printer and choose properties. Anything you change there will change the default settings on that computer.

If you're using another OS, you'll need to provide us with more information about your system.

If you want to JUST change Word 2007 so that it always defaults to your settings, open new a blank document (don't type anything in it), go to page setup, set the specifics that you want (margins, page setup, printer setup, etc...), then do a SAVE AS, change the type to template and save the blank document as "normal.dot".

The reason it is resetting is because of the ratio of paper ...

by OldER Mycroft In reply to 7x10 page size

All internationally recognised paper sizes, whether it is A, B, C, RA, or SRA - all have a ratio of 1 to 1.414 (the square root of 2).

Your custom size is being interpreted as a mistake and Word is adjusting it to the nearest internationally recognised size which it 'knows' is B5 (176 x 250mm).

Follow ThumbsUp2's solution and over-ride Word. Strictly speaking it was only trying to correct your 'mistake'.
