About Remote Monitoring

By ask_anurag ·
Hi,

I have a question.I heard that in Windows 2000 we can access any other computer without using third party software or tool.I have 20 computers running Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2000 Advanced Server.I want to access my users computer without using any software or tool.I heard that if we know the port no. then we can access it.
I would appreciate if someone assist me.

Thanks and Regards.

Anurag.

What exactly are you trying to access? If you want to manage them, and you have them on a Domain, then you can Right-Click on My Computer, select manage. This will open Computer Management, and from there, Right Click Where it says Computer Management(Local) and select Manage a remote computer. After that, just type in the name or IP Address of the remote computer you want to manage.

Hope this helps. Also, give me some more detail on what you want to monitor exactly.

What I want to do is I don't want to install any network monitoring software and without any software i want to access my users desktop so that I know what they are doing and what type of sites they access.Because my users deletes the software everytime even I have removed the rights. So will it be possible to monitor without the third party softwares.

I would appreciate if someone assist me.
