Acces File becomes read only cant change

Hi,
my client went to access a Access file on the computer. They are P2P network 2 pc the file is on the other pc. She has been able to access it all along and now cannot. I had her go to the other pc and open it and it says it is read only. I tried to have her change the attribute and it will not let het.Both machines are W98 SE.
