Access 2000 Delete Select Record

By devmann ·
I have a table where a field is Text format.
The values in the field can be numbers and text.
How would I delete only records that have a text value.

That's going to be a pain.

instr (http://www.techonthenet.com/access/functions/string/instr.php)

might help

you could also try the like operator

Delete from mytable where mytextfield not like '*[012346789]*' might do the job

This would get rid of all rows which don't have a digit somewhere in them.

use select first or make a back up.

P.S. if you use floating points or signed numbers in there you need to deal with -(+) and . as well.
