Hello, hope u'll b in the best of ur spirits following are the reasons that i think :

1- To me this seems to be more a typing mistake with respect to your code.Check the line where ur assigning the TextBox's text property equal to the persons email address field ? like you may not've assigned the same textbox's text property twice in ur code where its executed.

2- Well another reason that clicked my mind is that, when ur entering ur record the first time check in that procedure (where usave records) that ur not assigning the FIELD to the text box's text property (in this case the address may not be written twice in that particular field each time u save a record)for eg :

with rs
.addnew
.fields(1) = txtemail
.fields(1) = txtemail (DUPLICATION)
end with

3- Or check of any concatanation too like

with rs
.addnew
.fields(1) = txtemail & txt email (this
end with
could also happen)

Overall to me it seems a typing or mismatched CODING mistake, anyway best of luck :)

thanks for your input Mumshad, i used a data control for the form that was calling the single db field. the db had data in the email address fields and when they where shown in the form they displayed twice. if new data is added for the email address in this view then it is saved as a single address, and also an existing entry edited in this form view mode is saved correctly. the problem only occured when it read data from the database that already had an entry in the email address field. i have given you the oints anyway.
