Access Database

By yupitsamy ·
Can you search for info after building an Access DB? I'm new to Access so any info would be helpful. Also, is there an easy way to develop a splash screen? What are splash screens exactly?? Thanks!!!

I suggest going to some forums and looking at their faq's and articles, post a question for each individual question.

1) what do you mean by searching? Yes you can search for data. Example: if you have 1 table, make a form using the wizard. Then put your cursor in the field that you want to search in. There is a toolbar button with binoculars on it. It will default to search to the field that your cursor is in. Search away.

2) a splash screen is a type of message that comes up as the application opens but goes away after a few seconds. If you are new to Access, I would keep this question for much later on in the process.

Look up normalization. 3rd normal form is good. You need to have a good table structure, that is first step. Then move to queries you need, then forms, then reports. Once you get there go back to the splash screen.

A splash screen is simply a form which appears at startup then closes after a short delay. Just set the timer event to close the form after a couple of seconds then set the splash form as your startup form.
