I have an access/Sql database that I would like to link into a Webpage for people to search information. Can someone help me with some information. I have access 97 and it seems to convert the data to HTML although I am not sure becuase I don't seemto be able to search by name? What am I doing wrong?

Couple of things basically.
Exporting an Access 97 database table to HTML, but all you have is a static table, which will not be updated when you update Access, nor can it be given additional functionality by itself, though you could add something with javascript to pinpoint an item. Not very good though.
The best option is to use either CGI/Perl or ASP, which means that the ISP that you use must support either of these. Essentially Perl or ASP run on the server and can search for the data onthe server side, and retrieve it dynamically presenting it as an HTML page. Many ISPs are now supporting MySQL, so you could convert your database to MySQL.
Alternatively you could use a Java applet with JDBC to query your database dynamically.
Either way you will need to create a connection to the database source. Some ISP allow you to preconfigure an ODBC connection
which you can then use on your web site to interrogate your database.

If all this sounds complicated I would look up some tutorials on the net.

possibly, you can use AspDB (www.aspdb.com) - may be it is one of the easiest ways, but i would prefer to programm all this staff by myself in ASP(or PHP) - there is a lot of information in the WWW (www.learnasp.com or www.asptoday.com are just 2 examples)
