Access Denied restoring a file to XP

My client has an old Veritas backup program installed on his Dell XP Pro. He is using the program to backup his NT4 Cluster server data, via a mapped drive from the XP. He is able to restore files to the original drive (the cluster server drive). However, when he tries to restore the same files to his local drive (XP), the actual files won’t restore, but the folders do. Then when he tries to access the restored folders, he get access denied. Does any one have an idea what is going on? He is logged on with Admin rights on the XP, has Admin rights on the Cluster Server, and the XP belongs to the Cluster Server Domian.
