Access email - logon restricted hours

We are using Exchange 2000/W2K Server. Our users have permissions for remote/dialup access. We have restricted our users login to specific hours and users can access email ONLY during those hours. Is there anyway to provide email access over the internet 24/7 without removing (login) authentication requirements or changing the restricted login hours?

Access email - logon restricted hours

by McKayTech In reply to Access email - logon rest ...

I'm not entirely clear on your setup but one possible answer might be to provide Outlook Web Access for the 7x24 access. If the Web Server was running on the mail server itself, I believe you could then have the Web Access authenticate against a local account and have regular dial-up access authenticate against a domain account. In that case, you would leave the login restriction hours in place for the domain account while the local account would be unrestricted.

There are probably a few other alternatives including Group Policy or perhaps custom login scripts but I think the local/domain approach has the best potential.
