Access Exchange server from intenet without client software

By Jason Burns ·
Hi all,

I have and exchange server that the directors want to be able to access from one of our clients networks without having to install vpn software etc.

Is there a way of doing this? I want it to be secure. Do I have to use one of those RSA widgets!

Yes, what version of Exchange?

If you have Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 then you have the Outlook Web Interface, a very pretty and easy to use interface.

If you have Exchange 5.5 you still have the OWA, just it is pretty nasty to use.

If your director wants to be able to use Outlook, the program, then you either need the combination of Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003, and Windows 2003, or you need to use a VPN that does not require client software, like a SSL VPN.
