Access Foms and Subforms

I have a form in Access with a field named “Date”. When I click on a button that allows me to open a second form, I want the data in the “Date” field on the first form to appear in teh “Date” on the second form. I just can’t seem to get this to work. I’ve tried all kinds of code, but I feel that I am missing something.
