Access Forms in XP

By LF King ·
Field in database requires Vehicle VIN#'s - want a message to pop up on the form for that field to ask if the data is correct if under 17 characters.

The field is a maximum of 17 digits, but depending on the type of vehicle it could be less.

for the On Exit property of the text box, assign an event and code it like this:

'Compare the length of text in the control. test is what i called my textbox.
If Len(test.text)< 17 then msgbox "Whoa there buddy, are you sure that VIN# is correct?"
You could of course change the message box to meet your needs (with yes or no responses). I hope this helps.
