Access is dropping values

By rboyer ·
I have a database that calculates client contributions. One client can have contributions from 2 to 5 different accounts. I put all of those amounts, based on pay date, in one table with an append query. Then I run another query that sums the amounts and puts the results in another table. In between that step, some of the contributions come up missing. Does anyone have any ideas as to why values are missing?

Look for nulls in other columns of your table.

can you confirm 100% that you have all the data after the append operation ? So we can focus on the last (sum) part. Null fields shouldn't be an issue. Do you include other fields/groupings in the last query ? Do you have any links to other tables, or just other tables in the query ?
As long as you have a straight-forward "group by client" and "sum by contribution" (and nothing else), I can't see a problem.
