Access problem with windows xp

I can get to my Access 2000 on my windows 2000 machines. but when I try to access the access database on windows xp mahcines. It does not come up. After several tries it does come up. Could there be a script or file? Could it be that access 2000 needs to updated or correctly connected to the database on the nt server
