Access Right for Sharing Workbook

By siew.guek ·
Have anyone know how to block a few of columns to allow a certain user to edit and certain user to view only in Excel 97/2000?

Please advise.

TQ.

Use the Protection system

Go to 'Tools' >> 'Protection' >> 'Protect Sheet'

and then enter a password, people can view but you need the password to make changes.

I believe that if you select only the 'Objects' button you can have it apply to only part of the sheet, but best apply to the whole sheet.

If you want to stop some people from viewing part of it then it is best to have two sheets in the workbook with the concealled stuff on the 2nd sheet and not displayable with out a password, then just have links fromthe front sheet. Or you can design macros etc to show limited amounts of data.
