Access/VBA/Office XP Distribution/Maintenance Issues

We have many user interfaces created using MS Access to gather data and provide access to specific reports. Lately we are spending more and more time distributing these user interfaces and maintaining desktop software to avoid versioning issues. Is there a better solution we should be implementing (i.e. web-enabled or web-based applications) to minimize our current distribution and desktop maintenance issues? Are you aware of any issues with Office XP that could cause problems with the user interfaces?
