Access2k Capabilities & Concurrent Users

I am looking at using Access 2000 as the back-end for an online application that will house anywhere from 5000 records and upwards. The issue of 255 concurrent users is troublesome to me though. Does that mean that only 255 web users will be able toconnect concurrently? Or does that apply to local connections and not to online ones. I’m confused. Can anyone shed some light on this subject?
