Accessing NTFS Partison from Linux

I want to access NTFS partison from Linux.

I intsalled Linux6.2 and WIndows NT workstation4.0 on the same machine. I converted all my NT drives into NTFS. I want to access NTFS partison from Linux.

PLease give full details for me as soon as possible.

First type /bin/df to find out what dev your file systems are assigned. Next make a directory in /mnt

mkdir /mnt/winntfs

start with that for an example

then you need to mount the file system, you have to be root to do this, unless you haveset permissions to let users mount.

mount -t ntfs /dev/the_partition_of_your_ntfs /mnt/winntfs

then you can
cd /mnt/winntfs

that should do it.
