Acer Laptop needs jailbreak. Getting 0000225 error tried cmd and troublesho

I followed this guide after I found the error code 0xc0000225 when a suspected hack left me unable to use fingerprint or pin on my acer swift 3 laptop and now I am stuck. I’ve tried the four ‘Ways’ on this article https://www.minitool.com/backup-tips/0xc0000225.html by using Media Creation Tool for Windows 11 on a usb and had no success.

The second Way I got an error of some sort when trying chkdsk c: f/ /r after using doing steps 1-3 within ‘Way 2’ and so that was a bust.

The ‘Way 3’ option felt closest to working as the article told me to input these command prompts but on the third one, im going to list them, I got an “access denied”.

    bootrec /scanos

    bootrec /fixmbr

    bootrec /fixboot

    bootrec /rebuildbcd

I seem to have one obvious option which is install windows again (I had gone to the repair option of that screen, but not the install windows one). I don’t have a restore point saved, and I tried ‘Way 5’ which was selecting partition’s, but my computer only has one disk and one partition to pick from so it didn’t change the error message i’ve been getting all along, where I try a regular non-USB boot and the screen gives me the error 0xc0000225.

Ever so slight chance I have windows 10 but i remember the upgraded UI so.. also the usb i used for the tool had one small kb file i couldnt delete on it.

Indeed, if repair doesn’t work, a clean install of Windows is the solution. That should work if there are no hardware issues.

Tip: make a recovery drive to reinstall Windows from if necessary.

So I’m getting a “No signed Device Drivers were found make sure that the installation device contains the correct drivers then click OK”

Do I need a different program on the usb? Like buy windows again and put it on a usb? Or just have media creation for windows 11 on it?

Just use the media creation tool to make that bootable USB. Of course, you might need to install drivers from the Acer’s site after installing Windows.
It’s up to you choose Windows 10 or Windows 11.

but jailbreaking is a term typically associated with iOS devices like iPhones and iPads, not with Acer laptops or Windows operating systems. Jailbreaking refers to bypassing the restrictions imposed by Apple on their devices, allowing users to install unauthorized apps and make system-level changes.

If you’re encountering a 0000225 error on your Acer laptop, it usually indicates an issue with the Windows Boot Manager. This error commonly occurs when the boot configuration data is corrupted or missing. To resolve this issue, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Start your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key or a different key (such as F2 or Del) depending on your specific Acer model. This will take you to the advanced boot options menu.

Select “Repair Your Computer” from the menu and press Enter.

Choose the operating system you want to repair, if prompted.

In the System Recovery Options, select “Startup Repair” and wait for the process to complete. This will attempt to fix any issues with the boot configuration.

If the startup repair doesn’t resolve the issue, go back to the System Recovery Options and choose “Command Prompt” instead.

In the Command Prompt, type the following command and press Enter: bootrec /fixmbr

After that, type: bootrec /fixboot and press Enter.

Finally, enter: bootrec /rebuildbcd and press Enter.

Restart your laptop and see if the error has been resolved.

If these steps don’t fix the issue, it’s recommended to seek professional technical assistance or contact Acer’s support for further guidance specific to your laptop model.

        Thank you!

I tried at first to simply remove the User and install a backup from my desktop, or start a new user profile over, but like my IT friend though, it resulted in the 0000001 error code, so I have opted for full removal of the OS. I only had the computer three months, so not much of import there. Thanks!

      Which Swift?

First, read https://www.reddit.com/r/AcerOfficial/comments/vok81o/installing_windows_11_pro_on_acer_swift_x_sfx1651g/ about the drivers needed for the Windows install media to function/find the drives in said laptop.

I can’t be specific since I can’t know which Swift 3 you have but the Reddit discussion would be enough for me to get a good Windows USB install media made.

No jailbreak required for this machine.
