I followed this guide after I found the error code 0xc0000225 when a suspected hack left me unable to use fingerprint or pin on my acer swift 3 laptop and now I am stuck. I’ve tried the four ‘Ways’ on this article https://www.minitool.com/backup-tips/0xc0000225.html by using Media Creation Tool for Windows 11 on a usb and had no success.
The second Way I got an error of some sort when trying chkdsk c: f/ /r after using doing steps 1-3 within ‘Way 2’ and so that was a bust.
The ‘Way 3’ option felt closest to working as the article told me to input these command prompts but on the third one, im going to list them, I got an “access denied”.
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd
I seem to have one obvious option which is install windows again (I had gone to the repair option of that screen, but not the install windows one). I don’t have a restore point saved, and I tried ‘Way 5’ which was selecting partition’s, but my computer only has one disk and one partition to pick from so it didn’t change the error message i’ve been getting all along, where I try a regular non-USB boot and the screen gives me the error 0xc0000225.
Ever so slight chance I have windows 10 but i remember the upgraded UI so.. also the usb i used for the tool had one small kb file i couldnt delete on it.
