Hello
Can anybody help me?
If i reload XP onto a acer laqp top will i need to get all the acer programs that were on it to start with back or will the laptop work without them.
i.e. battery life and stuff like that?

All Acer laptops have a hidden partition that contains a “Ghost” image of the NB, as it was when it left the factory.

When you invoke the reinstall process you are given a system warning. The warning tells you that ALL data on partition C:\ will be overwritten and returned to factory state. BUT it also tells you that any data on partition D:\ will be safe and not touched.

So if there is ANY data you would prefer to not have to reinstall from original discs or backup discs ( things like MP3s of picture files – things you may be unable to reproduce again ) it would be wise to transfer them to the D:\ partition BEFORE you invoke the reinstall.

The reinstall process is very efficient and remarkably quick – it should take not much more than 3 minutes, and all required drivers will be included in the reinstall.

The only thing you will lose is any system updates or updates to drivers.
