Acer laptop’s Fn keys do not perform printed function, but other function.

I have an acer A315-33 laptop, which has been recently wiped and reinstalled with a clean copy of windows 10. But after the change, the Fn keys do not perform the functions written on them. for example, the volume down shortcut is printed on the down arrow, but it does not perform the function, instead, F10(which has nothing written on it ), lowers volume when pressed. multiple other shortcut keys( lowering, raising brightness, etc) are performed by other keys. I have tried to install Acer launch Manager, but it has not solved the issue. Please help.

Did you only try to install Acer launch manager, or did you actually install it?
Did you install all drivers and other utility programs for your laptop from the Acer site?
Did you contact Acer tech support? They might know the cause from other people installing Windows themselves?

A clean install is not trivial and has us searching the maker for helper apps and drivers at times. I think Kees/kbtr1 nailed the answer but again, head to the maker’s website and install these other apps and drivers.

If you need a step by step, work with the maker’s support.

If your Acer laptop’s Fn keys are performing some of the functions then it is
surely a driver issue. You need to install the Acer Hotkeys driver from the Acer
official site. I hope it will solve your issue after having Acer Hotkeys updated
driver.

The Fn or function key on your keyboard helps to perform various functions .How to configure the Function (Fn) keys to not require use of the Fn key in .But switching the top row doesn’t work regardless of pressing the either Fn with either Esc or lwindows.
