Acrobat Reader & Acrobat Standard

By rbachman6 ·
I can not get either to open. I have uninstalled & reinstalled to no avail. TIA

My OS is Windows XP Professional; 120 GB HD, with
95 GB free; 2.4 GHZ Pentium 4; 2.39 GHz 512 MB ram. Hope this can help answer my problem. The Reader is version 6.0.2 (updated); Acrobat Standard is 6.0.
TIA

I have searched also on Adobe website. I have tried their tips & tricks many times over. The programs "hang" then screen clears - but are still in task manager as if they are running.

Uninstall all version of Adobe Acrobat. If you have version 5 reader this will cause you some problems.
Uninstall all version and just install the Standard. Once you have the standard version you will not need the Reader. The reader is just for people veiwing PDF's Standard allows you to to do both read, edit, and create.
