ACT with Exchange

We have a customer who recently purchased ACT to handle their customer relations/contact information. They use Microsoft Exchange/Outlook for email. We have had a heck of a time figuring out how to syncronize Outlook/ACT (public contacts syncing with ACT...local Outlook changes somehow reaching the ACT database). We called ACT tech support and were very suprised to find out that they don't support contact syncronization with Outlook or Exchange. They sent us to a third party (expensive) solution.

The final part of the puzzle is making it so their mobile phones (mix between blackberrys/Windows mobile/IPhone) will also syncronize changes with the ACT database.

They have about 10 users(sales) that need to use ACT and have 'live' information at the palm of their hands. Has anyone had experience with this situation? (or something similiar?) Also, any tips would be much appreciate. We are trying NOT to go third party...Thanks in advance!
