Permissions,
As the Admin there are docs. I can't see.
I've taken ownership, added Domian admin to to local admin's group and still can't see these docs.
I'm trying to get ready to create a new Domain but can't even move every thing over.

Did you remember to uncheck the hide system files check box in view/options/2nd tab?

Are the files you are "not seeing" system files or user files? Encrypted files would be visible, but not readable.

Have you checked all policies? (domain, site,OU, and local)? There are list permisions that could be denied?

When you speak of creating a new domain, is this a new child domain in an existing tree, or a new tree in the forest? Running DCPROMO and dropping out of a domain will not lose any files for you. I am assuming that this is not the last DC in the domain.

Good Luck,

Bruce

After you have taken ownership, you might want to add the local admins to the acl of the directory in charge.
Do not forget to check the replace rights on subdirectorys box.

Good luck.

you also need to see if there are any denied permisions on the share(s) that you are trying to access this would also cause you problems if you are denied the access to list files
