I’m trying to instal DNS on my server.

this server is the first server on my domain and i want it to be active directory integrated. The only other network service i have installed is DHCP. When i use the; Configure the server wizard the option for the Active directory is greyd out. What services do i need to install to be able to use this option? or is the only way to make this through the Configure your server “startup”screen?

Go to start, run, type: dcpromo, hit enter. The Active Directory Installation Wizard will open.

You have to have DNS up and running or install as part of the AD installation. Run DCPROMO at the run line. Follow the steps and it will prompt you to install or point at another DNS server. If you are using another DNS server make sure its compatiable with DDNS.
